Ruth is Director Training Innovation and Culture with South West Hospital and Health Service, Queensland Health and Professor Rural Health Service Design, Centre for Business and Economics of Health, University of Queensland. She was National Rural Health Commissioner for Australia 2020-2024, President of ACRRM 2016-2018 and has over 30 years of experience as a Rural Generalist obstetrician and 20 years in rural medical education, working in rural and remote areas from western Victoria to the Torres Straits in Queensland. She now lives and works in remote south-west Queensland.
