To submit an article please click on the Online Article Submission Form.
Before submitting, please read our Information for Authors, which provides information about manuscript preparation, ethics approval, authorship, formatting of text and figures and article processing charges.
New authors are invited to seek assistance from our enthusiastic editorial team to prepare articles for submission: please contact the senior editor, Melissa Storey or journal manager, Jenny Bigelow for advice.
The answers to Frequently Asked Questions will also be helpful when submitting to the journal, and useful for reference throughout the publication process.
Once you have submitted your article, it will be assessed by the editorial board and then reviewed by international peer reviewers before it is accepted for publication in the journal. Information about the reviewing process is available here.
Make sure you are logged in to the journal before you attempt to submit an article. If you are not yet registered with the journal, you can register now.
Access to the published articles in Rural and Remote Health is unrestricted, but registration is required if you:
User registration requires the online submission of non-identifying information about your work and interests. You will be asked to nominate a confidential password, and you will have the opportunity to create a personal profile and optionally select your interest areas for notifications.
The average time taken for registration is 3–5 minutes.
If you do not have a username or password, then please register and return to this page.
If you've forgotten your password, log in with your email as the username and leave the password blank. You will receive a ‘reset password link’ by email from sender RRH with instructions.
To ensure the long-term sustainability of our journal, articles submitted after 1 July 2026 and accepted for publication after review might be subject to an article processing charge (APC).
Editorial Board members do not include APC eligibility in their consideration of articles and authors and affiliations are blinded to reviewers during peer review.
More information about APCs is available here and in our answers to FAQs.
The APC amount due will be communicated to the author upon article acceptance, and the APC must be paid before the article is published.
